HAudio ("we", "our", or "the app", application ID net.haudio) turns your Android device into a dedicated media player speaker for Home Assistant. This Privacy Policy explains how our application processes data.

2. Local Network Communication

HAudio operates locally over your home Wi-Fi network using the native ESPHome media player protocol:

• Audio streams and playback commands are exchanged directly between your local Home Assistant server and your Android device.
• No audio streams, audio files, or playback metadata are transmitted outside your local area network (LAN).
• All local server operations remain 100% private to your local environment.

3. Third-Party Services & SDKs

HAudio integrates only trusted third-party SDKs necessary for app stability and processing optional in-app purchases:

• Google Play In-App Billing: Processes payments for HAudio Pro subscriptions and lifetime licenses. Payment and credit card details are handled directly and securely by Google Play. We never have access to your financial information. (Google Privacy Policy)

4. Device Permissions Used

HAudio requests only the minimal permissions required to function as a persistent smart home audio player:

• INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Required to establish local TCP connections with Home Assistant.
• CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE: Required to broadcast mDNS discovery beacons so Home Assistant automatically finds the device.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK: Required to keep the audio service running smoothly in the background when the screen turns off.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on Android 13+ to show the persistent playback notification and controls.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Required to optionally restart the background audio player service when your device boots up.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Because HAudio does not collect or store personal user data on external servers, there is no user data to retain or delete. All app settings (e.g., node name, theme preferences) are stored strictly on your local device storage and are completely erased when you uninstall the app or clear app data.

6. Children's Privacy

HAudio does not address anyone under the age of 13 and does not collect any personal information from children.
